A Texas based startup is looking to establish itself in the field on online tutoring. We are searching for tutors that will be able to deliver their services via the internet. This tutoring service is targeted to support students, from elementary through high school, with assignments in math, science, English or Social Studies. We will initially concentrate our effort with the Texas market but expect to expand nationwide. The ideal candidate should have the following profile: Strong content knowledge in at least one of these subjects (Math (algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus), science (chemistry, physics, biology), test-prep (ACT, SAT, GRE, GED) English (reading, writing, study skills), Spanish, and French. The tutor needs to have to a reliable internet high speed broadband connection. Your computer will need to have the capability to do voice communication over the internet using the GoogleTalk software. The tutor will be provided with an email address from us and will expect that all communications on our behalf will be done via webmail (gmail), IM and voice chat via Google Talk. The purchase of a writing tablet will be required for certain subjects like Math. We may be able to provide financial assistance for this purchase. You will be paid on an hourly basis once a week and will be based on the number of tutoring sessions you provide in that week. Payment will be done via Ikobo (www.ikobo.com) or PayPal (www.paypal.com). A tutoring session will be 60 minutes long, 45 minutes for the actual tutoring and 15 minutes for preparation and wrap up. Tutor will be expected to provide a short status report of every tutoring session via email to the parent and to the training coordinator. Candidate should have a teacher background. Having some kind of teaching license or certificate would be preferable but we would be willing to look at qualified tutor with a university degree. Excellent verbal and written English Flexible hours, scheduling available from 2 PM to 1 AM Eastern Saving Time. Availability to tutor at least 5 hours per week. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus (NOT required). Provide instruction as assigned by the training coordinator. Support and encourage students with a positive attitude. How to apply?
